TRANSCANADA HIGHWAY UPGRADES
Approximately $315 million have been spent upgrading the TransCanada Highway between Calgary, Alberta and Revelstoke, British Columbia. An additional $2.5 billion in upgrades to the TransCanada Highway on either side of Revelstoke are anticipated, providing better access from the eastern areas of Edmonton and Calgary, Alberta and the western regions of Seattle, Washington and Vancouver, British Columbia.
REVELSTOKE AIRPORT is located at the very foot of the ski resort, with a 1,460 meter paved runway, terminal building, fueling facilities and hangers servicing mid-sized aircraft and executive jets. There are plans to underway to reconfigure the runway, and to provide instrument landing to accommodate larger aircraft.
POWDER EXPRESS serviced by a 40 passenger Dornier aircraft operates weekly flights during the ski season from Calgary International Airport to Revelstoke. (www.powderair.com)
KELOWNA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT: a pleasant 2 to 2/12 hour drive or a 35 minute charter prop flight to Revelstoke, provides complete customs an immigration services. Kelowna has direct flights daily from Toronto, Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver and Seattle. Serviced by: Air Canada, West Jet. Harmony Airways, and Horizon Air
KAMLOOPS AIRPORT: offers similar service to Kelowna Airport it has direct flights arriving from Vancouver, Calgary, Seattle and Prince George. Kamloops is an easy 2 1/2 hour to 3 hour drive from Revelstoke. Serviced by: Air Canada, Horizon Air
